British Normandy Memorial, Ver-sur-Mer, Calvados

In 2021 one of the world’s largest and most important monuments was completed: British Normandy Memorial honors sacrifice 22,442 men women who lost their lives on some momentous symbolic days twentieth century. French civilian is also remembered. Liam O’Connor designed built an exceptional contemporary classical project within a landscaped masterplan 20 hectares unspoiled Norman landscape set in historic battle space June 6, 1944. A team 500 including craftspeople from Europe USA contributed to this monument stone destined last for generations, providing timeless peaceful place remembrance.
